Hey guys,
I went to my dentist yesterday and I was surprised by the amount of papers that his assistant has to work with.
For example, I wanted to find out how much money I still have on my insurance and it took her about 10 minutes to calculate it using the price list from my insurance company and a calculator.
I was wondering why dentists don't have everything electronically? I mean all patients profiles, their history, insurance information, etc.
In this case it would take her just 2 seconds to answer my question. Or, for example, to give me the price on some procedure.
As a software engineer, I know that this kind of system is not to hard to build. Why don't dentists use something like that? Is there some sort of regulation preventing it?
