I got this drawing from the Doctor to try and find out what implant this is. The patient had this implant placed in Italy about 12 years ago and had no other work on it. There is just a cover on it. There are two circular holes in this implant going right through from one side to the other. Any ideas what implant it could be?

I would ask him to take an xray of the implant.

Go to Genieoss :) and click on "Implant Identification".
Maybe you will find something there.

I agree with asking for a radiograph. You need to see the threads and the connection of the implant. I would also ask that he remove the cover screw and send you a picture of the connection. There are a lot of different implant bodies out there and many have prosthetic connections that are compatible with one another. You may not need to identify the exact implant manufacturer--only a compatible connection. Something 12 years old probably needs a .035' or .048' driver to remove the cover screw. These are fairly common and he should already have the driver; if not they are easy to find and fairly inexpensive.

Id say the holes in the base of the drawing are a dead giveawy... Corvent Basket surprised it never broke off...lol I've got some old parts for that system lying around somware if it turns out to be the case...

Ask that xray picture.

I would think that in Europe, would be more likely the hollow basket
type original Straumann instead of Corevent.
