There is a handy device called an Alma Gauge that measures the horizontal and vertical length of a pt.'s existing denture and it is easy to mimic that. You can get it from any supplier.

You could just mount the returned lower denture on an articulator and then rebase...after mounting at average value, you then make an index of the existing teeth at zero on the articulator similar to what you would do on a reline jig....Then you could remove the teeth en block and then reset them all in one step on the articulator by reducing the incisal pin by the amount the doc wants...doc should have measured the r original freeway space and replicated that on the bite rims....I would recommend you send them out for try in...I have done this a few times when the patient cannot tell me anything such as those with behavioural problems or parkinsons also with some who cannot speak english.
