Hi all

Some years ago , almost 10 we got this rare case, and we have to solve it.
There was no CAD/Cam , or pre-made abuttment to solve rthis, so what decided to cast tha piece in TI.
We use a Manfredi induction casting machine , Manfredi Ti and Manfredi Ti- investmet , and Noritake porcelain Ti-22
So far everything is ok, the bone, the implant and the porcelain. Palatal tissue covered very well , and there is no sing of inflamation.

Here are the pics :

That's neat. Glad to see the surgeon used the stent for exact placement...I joke.

Im sure you did your best. I know how challenging that was for you; and that was 10 years ago. I did one quite similar last year, but not as extreme as your's. I cant imagine the implant being place that far palatally. But they always say that where the bone was. Hard to believe when you have two adjacent teeth. Well done. Maybe the technology we have today can offer some improvements in situstions like this.

My favorite line from a surgeon. "But that's where the bone was."
I guess bone augmentation is too much to ask for.

that´s ok, it is a matter of common sense, i agree , but you have to know, that here in my country, 10 years ago, implants were very expensive, and cost almost a monthly income of a middle class guy ( u$s 1500 - $4500 here) . So , if you had the luck to have an implant , you wanted to be used.
Now everybody is doing implants, and there are implants made here , quality is ok , and cost almost u$s 200. And if we have to left one unused, we do it.

Bye
