it looks to me like some sort of implant.

IF you look at the X-ray, you can see gap between healing abutment and the implant - most likely
bone got in the way. Or when they were trying to remove the bone, they dinged the platform.
Either way, not a good situation for the restorative phase at this point. Good luck.

PS: everything like the likely square thread and shape of healing abutment suggest it is a BioHorizons
