Hey all,
We recently picked up a C-clamp holder so we can do 90-degree milling on zirconia for ZIBs and large bridges, but we're getting lousy results. We've tried it with painted-on special milling designations, as well as unpainted 90-deg milling (where I guess it automatically figures out where it's appropriate to switch to face milling),and in both cases the 90-degree milling areas are significantly deeper than the rest, and have a poor finish compared to the other areas. I ran a manual calibration wax disc on the mill and the results were good, all within tolerances and didn't need adjusting. Other parts run on the mill (non-90-deg bridges, crowns etc) look fine. I'd guess it's a tool height issue if the mill didn't verify tool height every time it does a tool change. Maybe it's a CAM issue, the designation painting or the milling operations we're opting for? I'm not sure.

Hello, @tuyere . It's Jane Qi, customer service specialist for DGSHAPE Global. Nice to e-meet you here again.

Would you please show me some photos that can help me better recognize your issues. And I also have a few questions for you:

1. Would you please let me know the serial number of this DWX-52D?
2. Would you please let me know which version of the Millbox are you using now? In order to use C-clamp, it is necessary to update MilLbox to 2020 or later.
3. Which type of the Auto correction jig are you using on this DWX-52D? A photo would be easy to understand.
4. Which model of the spindle are you using on this DWX-52D? ZS-4D or ZS-52D?

You can PM or email me whichever you prefer. I look forward to your reply.

Thank you.

The 0.6 burr has two versions.
Longer and shorter, maybe you have the shorter version going too deep and causing damage.
Burs must be original not Chinese copies.
When drawing the user defined areas, make sure to use a preset viewpoint (on hyperdent left).
Make sure you check in your CAM software that 90 degree milling is enabled.
What also could be causing this issue is you not placing the object far enough on the edge of the blank.
I also use C clamp on the same machine, never had issues, mostly doing large all on 4 work.
Sorry if the pic is bad
