Yeah I have a old box of the green rediform but don't like them either.
I use the Kerr rediform " Bio-Pontic". They are the blue ones and don't have those funky bands.
Been using them for years so don't have anything to compare to.

I have two that I use. The BioPontic that Al mentioned and also a Wax Pattern Kit of pontics from Glidewell. I like the Glidewell kit better because the bottom (ridge) side of the posteriors are scooped, not bullet shaped. Fits more cases. $69.

Bio pontics. I took one of the first courses Ken G. gave when he developed his Bio pontics. If I still hand waxed, I would try Yeti and GW. You can't have to many sizes and shapes when your trying to save time waxing and metal finishing. The Bego's pontics I tried were way to soft for my taste.

I take sticks of Maves Inlay green wax, cut off what I feel is enough for the pontic I need, melt-n-mold it into the desired shape. We have a bunch of pre-formed pontics but I never liked adjusting them. They never seemed to melt or carve the way I wanted. Nu skool kid going old school I guess. I like Labguys tecnique too.

#8 or#10 rope wax for me. Takes about 30 seconds. Easy as pie.

Old school was great back in the day... For those of your still hand waxing  you really need to use preshaped pontics... save a LOT of time

I can wax one faster than you can set one.
