Sometimes it happens that the, between the layer of the first and the second baking there are areas in which the ceramic does not bind.
I try to explain better: especially in the areas of depression, as in the occlusal grooves, creating a layer of air between the two layers.
I sand blasting and steam clean the surface before the second firing.
Anyone have any idea why this happens?

Yep it pulls sometimes. Porcelains shrinks towards it's greatest bulk and usually that means if you are getting a pull your second layer needs to be a more uniform layer. Increasing the dry time will help some as well. I've used margin powder in some of areas (pontic especially) where I know it will pull like this. Hope that helps.

I use an endo file to create my primary anatomy. You have to go back and add most of the time but you are at least controlling the shrinkage in your favor

I was thinking just that, returning to old habits when I started making ceramic .
In recent years with the new ceramics for PFM was no longer necessary.
I will try ..
thanks

Thanks for posting this question. This has happened to me, too, mainly on the occlusal.
