Yes , it takes a long time to mill a model... complex geometry... so it makes it an expensive proposition. OK for a one off but not for normal production. Resin reinforced Gypsum disks work ok, I have not used polyurethane but seen it.
I have used this brand and its ok. 98 mm disks in 3 thickness.
Wieland has a disk for milling models...is fun to play with but it didn't make any sense to put in production...no one would pay for such an expensive product...just talking about machine time ( that's $ too)...took 5.5 hours to cut an arch...
