Michigan - Sales Tax Exemption Revoked - Labs Qualify for Industrial Processing Exemption

I'm in Michigan and this is the first I have heard about this. My accountant is up to date on things and he has not said anything. I think there is some misinterpretation of the "law?"

    3Shape 2016?

Last month our computer bit the dust. We too were on 2014. With new computer we upgraded to 1016. It has been great. Scanning is faster and there are some helpful changes. The down side is they move icons to a different location. Back, Next etc. Some tools work somewhat different, but it doesn't...

Bloomberg assesment of the US dental industry

"cobbling together fake teeth from porcelain, zirconia or polyurethane" Wow what an insult! I didn't realize we Technicians did such sh#t work, good thing the overseas labs have come to our rescue!

    Ultra Suction

30 + years ago when I worked in house for a Prosthodontist he had a patient come with a denture that had magnets set in the upper and lower posterior with opposing poles. Guy had them in for many years. Yes he said a dentist put them in, and yes they were slightly rusted! This is no **it I saw them!

Can I reheat a casting if I'm out of alloy?

Had that happen! I've left the ring in the hot oven til the next day. Made the casting when the alloy arrived. Didn't seem to affect the fit. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

No Argen's don't. We have used several different milling centers and none have had the "fingers". Only Biomet.

    Initial Crown Proposals

Thanks!! I have been trying, for a long time, to figure out how to move my favorite library to the first choice. My reseller didn't know how. I just suffered through. Seems like I learn something helpful here over and over. It is amazing what makes me happy these days.

    Encode soft tissue models

Thanks, Sevan and John. This is what I have been doing, just thought I might be missing something simple. Yes we do charge extra for this. Our encode cases are almost double in price over other systems. Our Dr's know this up front and don't complain. I guess I need to quit venting and move on.

    Encode soft tissue models

I've Preached using a transfer coping, but nope! No we won't modify the abutment. Now that the Dr has had an issue he is willing to use a pick-up coping, go figure, New Model. Never time to do it right, always time to do it over. Just wanted some ideas on how others are doing models for these. I...

    Encode soft tissue models

What are some of the techniques you use to create a soft tissue model on an encode impression? Our Rep has told us to inject a doughnut of soft tissue in the impression trying not to get any to run into the detail areas (easier said than done). Then pour the model. When we get the model back a...

    Tooth Reduction

After 40+ years in this business I have seen too many dentists that have this level of "Quality." Get rid of this hemorrhoid! You will feel much better. The sad part is that this Dr has been licensed by the state he practices in. Kinda reinforces my feelings about Lab Tech's being licensed. Just...
