I'm trying to make a Maryland for a lateral with Emax. For the sprue pin is recommended only one on a pontic?

never going to work long-term.

Even Zirconia breaks sometimes, and that is 3x the strength.

Good luck!!

emax marylands designed like pfm marylands will break.

No wings but cingulum preps instead.

Thats an inlay bridge.

Hardly considered "Wings", or a Maryland bridge.

You can call it whatever you want and you still would sound funny around here.

Same surface area for bonding as a wing but with a stronger connector.

Don't prep past center of abutment tooth.

mine don't break!

rkm, That ging third looks like a ML bridge I pressed recently, very grey with distinct line. It's not a shadow.
When I pressed a second time it was ok.

Winged-bridge or Maryland bridge is with minimal to Zero reduction/prep on lingual.

That is an inlay bridge with Massive destruction/prep of the lingual surface. Not wings.

I would never let a Dentist do that type of prep to One of my family members.

Very aggressive Dentistry that kinda goes against the golden rule of Dentistry.

Rule #1 is to preserve any and all healthy dentition. No?

I am funny everywhere, even in Canada. LOL

I'll pass on your concerns to the Prosthodontist and I'll make sure I use your word "kinda" when criticizing.

Doomed. Why not just use metal, cantilever, place grooves. I wouldn't let someone do that to a dead animal. It's just asking for destruction of abutment. No wonder marylands get a bad rap! The best dental restoration ever gets bastardised and defamed because of stupid dentists thinking they're cutting edge conservative!!

A metal cantilever with grooves?

You can't be serious.

I say we shoot the Canadian!
Then hang him!
Then draw and quarter him!
Then send his head to Amherst, NY, so they can put it on a pike at the entrance to Ivoclar!

(Did you know that if you call tech support at Ivoclar, they will tell you how to sprue an e.max Maryland bridge?)

The best dental device ever? The Maryland bridge?
While they have their place, I think I'd give "the best dental device ever" award to the implant.

The implant is like the motor car. Overall when misused causes disaster!
Go read the article by Lam Botelho and McGrath. COIR 2012. Very true. We ain't seen nothing yet of disasters. But you only have to look at some if these implant challenges you guys get to see what's gonna happen. Big dollar mistakes.
