How does a dental lab technician retire these days? Any ideas?

Hopefully if you own a lab, and that your EBDA (earnings before depreciation and amortization, excluding any non-cash expenses related to stock compensation activities) is really good and you can get a multiple of 8 to 10 times. This should set you up nicely and you move to your deserted island and enjoy the rest of your life.

If your a tech with no lab lets hope you saved up a nice nest egg

I agree with the above sentiments, albeit it is a far distant prospect for me but my view is unless you own a lab better start investing because its gunna take awhile otherwise.

My plan is to order up a dumpster, fill it and walk away.
Id be happy to carve duck decoys and go to decoy shows when I’m not fishing.
I’ve still got a daughter finishing up her nurse practitioner doctorate degree and another in med school so unfortunately, I’m not phoning the refuse company just yet.

Retirement is the carrot dangled in front of the middle class to get them to go to work all their life. Retirement is for quitters who like baggy cargo shorts.

I've got about 18 months left in me.

Retirement is death, I still love what I am doing. Now think about all the wisdom you all have to pass on....

Just make choices that make you happy, if this is just a job go find something that isn't, if this is all you know and you feel trapped, go find a way to change that.

As to the answer, I will retire when the trade becomes less challenging less rewarding and when the guy that just has to have what I have writes a big fat check.

Life has a way of getting in the way of your plans.
