When you consider the labor and material factors, it is just hard to compete with the machineable materials as far as the profit margin goes. My fingers are already feeling better at the thought of it! The metal prices will continue to rise with each QE from Bernanke and it doesn't appear to be an end in sight.

There's just not that much gold in the actual restoration (minus the button). What something like 5dwt? The actual gold cost is managable.
