d700 is less accurate and slower than the current medit, let alone the new one.

laser is yesterdays news by the looks of it, even the d900 has gone over to projected light, despite 3shape trying to argue not long ago that laser was just as good. err why change with the d900 then??

I'd have to say safer and cheaper... easier and cheaper to repair? maybe.

One fuzzy line scanning object vs/ Hundreds of sharp lines at same time?

ahhhh, it is no match. Lasers will not be returning to the Dental world.

Bye!

exocad is going to have major changes over the next year.

Getting better and better! Can't wait!

We are adding a new implant from www.biohex.com befor years end.

Going to be the first to do so. This will be my first attempt at designing scan-marker and CAD library to be added into DDG / exocad library. Shouldn't be too hard.

I will try to make the exocad implant library stay on top with the largest library in the world.

Today, we are designing a bar on weird Implants Direct Bar thingy (3.0 GoDirect?) Never seen anything like it, but here we go....Have the proper CAD for interface and test fit One yesterday.

Scanning with Medit Blue and Steinbichler to see results of fit.
First, we prototype on 3d-systems printer, this case is sooo tight verticle!
We test fit, and send printed pattern to customer to verify before going to Ti.

so does anyone have the specs on the Blue? Scotty?

-how many cameras? 4? and 3.9 megapixels or???
-accuracy is 15 micron? 5? so many numbers thrown around
-how long does it take to scan a single unit? or a bridge?

is it worth the $4k price hike, or should we stick to the SE for cost effectiveness?

2 cameras, at 1.3mp
10-15um? ...Laurence Grice-Roberts post on here.
Check out YouTube medit vs d700... someone posted a video of side by side comparison.....vazone maybe?

$4K...well that's your call.....could buy you a few extra modules ,,,,, and more beer to drink with the added extra time saved from scanning.:D

Make sure your seller will buy it back from you if you don't like it.
Saves you the hassle of trying to selling it on DLN.

You can turn almost any scanner into Blue or Green or Red if you really want. Even the current Medit model.

Access the Projectors menu and turn down the Two colors you do not want to use.

Nothing really fancy about it IMO. I did this with my old Sinergia scanner. It was White, and I made it Blue.

It worked just like that. :p

Many many scanners work in ambient light, without the need for special housing or ?? Even the White light.

I think the whole thing about the Blue, is that the wave-length is shorter the more you go down the Spectrum of emissions for Electro Magnetic Radiation.

Red being One of the longest visible light waves. The Shorter light waves are more desirable and data from that is more predictable?
so I hear that extended exposure to blue light coming from either monitors or scanners would cause headache and discomfort. You think that's why 3shape have closed enclosure vs Identica and other brand with open scanning chamber?

I'd really like a source on that. The blue spectrum tells your body to wake up which is why phones/pc/tablets can interfere with sleep if used too much too close to bed.

Screens cause headaches because we blink less looking at monitors, among other reasons.
