I am going to press some D-3 shade veneers full contour and try to shade down to D-3 using a D-2 ingot, question is will I get good enamel shade without using enamel porcelains just by shading down body or will I wind up cutting back slightly and overlaying with enamel.

you need to cutback a little.. to get a good Enamel translucency..

Are you pressing HTD2 or LTD2..?

I pressed D-2 lt and shaded. There was no room to cut back. They actually look pretty good.
