A common question on this forum. What ingot to use to cover a metal post.

For me without a doubt in the anterior region H0.

I pressed #7 HO2 3/4 full contour lingual, #8,9 & 10 C2 LT.

Dusted with Neutral fired.
Stained the gin 1/2 C3 feathering it up higher on the HO2 crown.
Fired
Build C3 1/2 D2 1/2 fired.

Stained where I wanted for effects, set stain.

Layer incisal.

Glaze with glaze paste then rubber wheel lightly and lightly touch with diamond paste.

This is at insert just after cement clean up.
Tissue should drop down to cover the dark teeth below the margins.

no one can do it the way you do it Al.
Great. I just loved the orange effect and the incisal part.
You have any pictures of the build up?

Damn, you guys are rough!!!!!! Nice one Charles, now that's going to cost you two beers this weekend :)

Great work Al, love the internal staning and the aged mammelons. Now you have to get your wife a screen name so she doesn't have to keep posting her work under yours:rofl:2

Check out this case.

ai46.photobucket.com_albums_f116_CDLAB_ol8.jpg

Dr asked for press and stain for 28 and 29.

Pfm 30 over custom abuttment, 30 BW contoured tooth, he wanted metal strutt in the furcation area.

ai46.photobucket.com_albums_f116_CDLAB_ol12.jpg

Looks ok from the occlusal.

ai46.photobucket.com_albums_f116_CDLAB_ol9.jpg

But the buccal the shade is off on the press and stain and the 1st molar.
The molar has too much incisal on the gin 1/2, but this is typical of what I see with p & S emax. That chaulky look.

I notice that alot if not most cuspids and bicuspids have a high chroma but translucent dentin on the gin 1/2.

Dentin porc is often too opaque or high value and incisal will grey out the area, and stain sucks it blocks out the trans.

Im going to start using the cervical trans porc alot more on cuspids and bicuspids. They are a intense orange, yellow and a brown but with trans. I think I will start building out the gin 1/2 of these with this instead of incisal because emax LT lacks chroma and trans.

Its pretty intense stuff so I think only a dab will do the trick.

We're just human afterall Al. Tough case, 3 different types of restorations in the same quad. Looks good for what you were asked to do.
