Hello, here's my new toy
This is an experiment...again. As you can see it's an hybrid appliance that utilizes the Inman Power Component to generate expansion force.

This is not for an actual patient, it's done for demonstration purposes and practice. I hope some of my doctors will like it enough to try them.
The Crozat book I got from Mike was very helpful, thanks MIKE!!!
I would appreciate some ideas to make it better
The wire I used was regular,much cheaper to practice with I had no 1,3 mm wire for the palatal arch wire, so I used 1mm except for the poorly manufactured Jackson crib
The idea is to have an appliance that is comfortable to wear compared to standard acrylic plate. With non compliant patients it can be baned using occlusal rests on first molars and first bicuspids.
The buccal arm is there because I had an idea to derotate second incisors using NiTi powered labial bow when enough space gained.

Your solder work is fantastic, you would be unstoppable with a laser welder.

I Laser welder is wayyyyy to expensive even for my clinic. Maybe if I sell my apartment I could get one
My boss managed to get us this:

It's a electric welder, Master 3000 by Dentaurum. We got additional hand electrodes for tack welding and soldering. I am still waiting for graphite extensions required for soldering. The damage I do while heating wire is to great when using a simple propane burner. With this gadget I can heat only the parts I need to solder, no damage to surrounding wire. It can be used for controlled wire heat treatment. (e.g. with my CrozatIPC appliance I can use tempering to eliminate palatal arch elasticity so IPC would not get any resistance while doing it's thing)
I would like to try the solution Mike is using, oxygen & acytelen welder sounds cool too.

It is one think to have skill but to love and work hard on new ideas and strive for perfection sets you apart. I think Mike and Cade have it and probably many more that visit this site might but overall it is rare. I know you are young so I can't wait to see everything you develop while I am still around.

Can you take me through the process of Electric Soldering, I have 0 experience with it but I am interested. Please take me step by step, for example do you use Flux....I am guessing no.

Is the unit you use very $$, how great is it for resistant welding?

Here's some pictures. I tried soldering with Master 3000 for the first time today. I still haven't got graphite extensions so I used the one designed for static welder setup. I am famous for my impatience

P.S. I use flux, thinned with distiled water

@ Mike, thanks. My main profit comes from simple acrylic appliances too, it's no longer a challenge to make them. Experimenting brings much more joy

@ Don, I'm glad pictures are descriptive enough. I will post more detailed description when I get my hands on graphite add-ons. I was surprised how good it worked even with improvised way I used it. The process is really fast and it does almost no damage to the wire, unlike the flame that needs to be pointed correctly to avoid burning surrounding wire or acrylic.
I am not sure what's the price tag for it, I would guess it is around 3000 euros( that's like 5000$),I'll ask around to see how much it was. The hand electrodes and foot switch were 1300 euros (2060 $)!!! what a ripoff.
There are Master3000 , Assistant3000 and Junior 3000 from Dentaurum. You can see them here http://www.dentaurum.de/files/989-519-20.pdf. I think Junior 3000 would be enough for my needs, it has basic tack welding and soldering functions. Master3000 is overkill. We have two of them at school but nobody uses them except me.
Can you post pictures of your old Assistant, I'm sure it can be used for soldering too if it has graphite tips.
