used dental wings 5 series

I saw on ebay a used 5 series DW sold without software DWOS... so I was wondering whether I could use any other software such exocad or I have to buy original DWOS, that I found is currently sold for over 7500$. Does anybody knows?

How would you know it works without the software? Why would the software be missing?That price also seems a bit high for discontinued hardware. I would think 3k would be the best they would be able to get for this piggy in sack.
