I went from a D500 to a D1000. Sometimes it's a good idea to trade up.
For me, personally, 18.2 has been a good version.

@jeppsta just went through the same thing. Maybe he'll stop by and give you
some of his feedback other than this post and the couple that followed.

I've received good support from core3d.

To each his own. Thank goodness we still have choices we can make between differing systems according to our personal preferences.
I have no qualms, one way or the other. Different strokes for different folks, and so on and so on....

Argen now offers 3Shape scanner rental, for a very reasonable monthly price.
I believe part of the deal is that you need to send them 10 units a month.
I'm not sure it that also includes frames, wax ups etc. or just zirconia?

I'd recommend the E1 for affordability, or the E3 or E4 as a high production/premium option over the E2. The E2 has the same PC as the E1, the E3 and E4 have a better PC in its bundle. The E2 is a bit of a unloved middle child, unless you can use that to your advantage and help one of the distributors move product that's been sitting in the warehouse with some major discounting.

You're going to love the E series, its light years beyond the D700.

Sorry guys....I have been away.
I went for the E2 specifically because it offered texture scanning and multi die scanning. Not sure if E1 supported MDS. The E2 Is pretty much twice the speed of my old 700 and plenty fast enough for me. It was best bang I thought, out of all models for me. I didn't buy the PC from 3 shape, I built my own and got the discount off purchase price..
I felt that I could build a faster PC for cheaper than the one they offered with the scanner.
Been very happy with it.

Thanks

I can't find the link to that, can you?

never mind, I found it .

Sorry, rkm, I've been offline for a couple of days.
My dad found out about it when he was asking around and was told by another lab or a rep,
don't remember who he said.

It does look like it's a pretty stripped down version, though. E1 scanner and no dental designer.
You scan and they design? Not to impressed.

force you to pay yearly licensing fee... but won't upgrade your software? that's quite fraudulent.

3 shape has a trade up program to the E3 on now. It may be the better deal.
