Hi guys,

Has anyone else had this issue where you have to restore with an Variobase AS when using the following scanbody??????:

CARES® RB/WB Mono Scanbody - Ø 3.8mm, H 10mm PEEK/TAN ref: 065.0035

I'm trying to restore Straumann WB 5.5. This implant was scanned with the above TAN scanbody. I would like to use WB Variobase® for Crown - incl. screw, Ø 5.5mm, GH 1.5mm, AH 5.5mm, TAN ref: 062.4954..... but I cannot as the anti-rotational mechanism of the regular Variobase is offset differently from the Variobase AS.

The Variobase AS that works (but I don't want to use) is the WB Variobase® for Crown AS - incl. screw, Ø 5.5mm, AH 5.5mm, GH 1.5mm, TAN ref: 062.4971

Thanks,

Brad

I am not quite sure what you're asking. If you want to use a straight WB 5.5, 1.5, just pick that one, place it according to the scanned marker and design your crown on it. There is no 'direction' on that Variobase and so it shouldn't matter how 'rotated' it sits on the model.

But then you're stating that the Variosbase AS works ... but in what way does this 'work'?

Just realized this is an old post ... reply may not be relevant any longer!
