I have a case that the doc wants a #13 screw retained with #12 cantilever.. Any info/studies on long term effects of this on the #13? Will this be too much pressure on the implant?

Depends on bone quality, size and type of implant and crown to root ratio. I would leave 12 slightly out of occlusion. I have also done this and designed 12 as a cuspid or a bi with no occlusal table and no lateral interferences. Kind of an esthetic facing to close the space.

Thanks Bob! that's a good idea to make 12 a cuspid - I'm going to suggest it and maybe see what the surgeons thoughts are.
