Interesting thought Jordan, we never have considered this in our nesting. Can't hurt I guess :)

That's exactly it, John... it can't hurt!

A lab doing just a couple crowns a day would be less likely to see the long-term benefits of this technique. However, we have plenty of customers doing 50-500 units a day. At that point, the cumulative result of each and every small advantage you gain by taking this stuff into account can be huge! Even for the smaller labs, this can be another step in your troubleshooting process if you're getting unexplained, inconsistent results. And the best part, it requires almost no added effort - just a small change in your thought process. ;-)

Awesome article, Jordan!

BTW, any CAP-supported customers using Sum3D with their DWX-51D can get an updated equipment file which will trigger the auto-nesting to default on the "correct" side of the disc. Just give support a call to request this.
