The tooth over the empty space begins to super erupt meaning it grows down into the space. Your Dr. Should know this
And now you know this(if you already did then I think you wouldn't of asked the original question)
Our teeth are where they are in our mouths because of opposing forces tongue,lips and occlusion. That is why thumbsuckers have overbites
