I use the Success injection system; took a few to work out the kinks but am basically happy with it. Would prefer the Ivoclar system though.

I currently press and also inject with the quattro ti machine, ,but right now
im serious looking into switching to Kulzer Palajet-Palamat .
I realy like the idea of 2 dentures per flask.

Isn't that a cold cure acrylic system?

nop,
Im not planing on using their resin..although they have diferent ones, not cold cure.

there are a few labs outthere injecting with the system and using freaky acrylic and on the palamat you can program overnight cure cycle or 1.5 our cure cycle.and others,

its like my mg new-press,, I inject freaky acrilic with it, and boil cure as usual it works great but you are limit to one denture per flask.

my boil unit is old and ready to be replaced , palamat seems great, but still thinking about it ...

We're still using Vulcanite (apologies to Josiah Bacon, R.I.P.) for our standard denture cases. For a slight up-charge, we apply a layer of Walkerite to the buccal surfaces. Still having a learning-curve with Luxene, although it has been working better than Celluloid (teeth were popping out and people complained about the taste of Camphor).

and...

...I'm just kidding!

CPD,

Walkerite is the brand name for the first synthetic resin Bakelite (1907) used in complete dentures. Later the first acrylic resin developed was called Hecolite (1930's)......

Just some bar triva for techies.......

Hecolite must been Kulzer.
they claim they are the inventors of acrylic .

Kreyer,

Thanks for catching my drift.:yo:

more trivia...

Josiah Bacon worked for 15 years as the traveling Treasurer for the Goodyear Vulcanite Company of Boston, Mass. His job was to extoll royalty payments from Dentists using Vulcanite. He was shot by (dentist) Samuel P. Chalfant April 16, 1879 in San Francisco. They met in Boston (think: Boston Tea Party?)

..
..

Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) was commercially developed by ICI in 1931 and the first dental acrylic was Kallodent, an injection moulding grade of PMMA, and this was followed by a dough moulding compound from Kulzer of Germany.

Kulzer was 1st in "dough" format, however, 2nd in acrylic.

Somedays I FEEL really old. I was totally kidding about using Vulcanite!
I am 44 years old, been doing labwork since 1986 (almost 23 years - career is old enough to drink legally !)
