I have a Phaser MX1 welder with argon which is used for welding mainly precious bonding alloy ~30% Au..

Follow required procedures before welding...sandblast, steam clean...but still get carbon deposits whichever settings I try. Oddly enough, on thin Ti squares, its perfect, welds are clean...so any suggestions appreciated

thanks

I don't think its a big deal. I get a little surface carbon when I use the laser welder. It should wipe right off. If you get a lot of carbon, it might be time to change your argon tank or upgrade to a better grade argon.
