New Desktop 3D Scanner

Shining 3D has just introduced their new desktop dental scanner. The sytem has a 100 x 100 x 75mm scan volume, dual rotary axes, a dual 1.3 MPXL cameras. Volumetric accuracy is 15 microns and is VDI/VDE certified. VDI/VDE is an international standard for measurement devices. Scanning of a complete upper or lower is 55 to 90 seconds.
The system is priced at $16,900. Introduction pricing includes a seat of EXOcad for the $16,900 price through July 31, 2012.

I cant see how that would even work! If you think about it the scanner would need to be loaded with a load of image grab devices,mine works by taking stots from 9 different positions and angles. I think near instant image grab is just not realistic, unless you want a cerec occlusal scanner, undercuts what undercuts Lol
