even if you employ a person, they will still be "long term camping" under the bridge unless you can afford to pay them enough to finance a home and give guarantees to the length of their contract.Would you really rather have that person drawing unemployment, camping under a bridge, living with a family member, etc than to have a lower wage?
you dont magically earn enough to live just by having any job.
and if you are on the cusp of hiring but cant pay that kind of wage, then you arent on the cusp of hiring. you are on the planning stage of hiring.
mcdonalds and visa conjured up this fantasy to try and justify its terrible wage scheme.
rent 600, and no heat? and 2 people can live on this income? in what world is 150 a realistic car payment?
anyone else notice the expenses are over 50% of a 2 person income? nobody in the world would qualify for a mortgage in this scenario, let alone be granted one where 600 is both principal and interest, and affords a home big enough for two people.
if those expenses are accurate (and they arent) the living wage is at least 2520 for two people. comfortably and more accurately combined income should be 3150 to put these expenditures at 40%.
