Ok, this job is on the way...shade is A2 gingivally and A1 incisally.

Not sure of thickness in the wax with the crown as yet and am thinking of going with LT ingots , they work fine on Ti abutments as long as they are thick enough...have done quite a few, but the black area on the crown prep may show throw with LT?

If not, was going to use MO, dont really want to use MO or HO as dont want problems matching the veneer

Any suggestions?

thanks

You could do this a couple of ways- Jensen sells a paste opaque from the Authentic line that you can apply on the inside of the emax crown to mask dark stumps, or you could make a crown on #8 and prep it to look just like #9- then do two veneers with the same HT ingot. Its hard to determine what color to use without a shade tab in the photo. Good luck !!

I'd do both (MO and LT)...Looks like the Doctor takes good clinical photos, tell him to try in both and take a picture for you. Seat what looks best, a great learning experience :) I bet your Doc would give you kudos too :)

Thanks for those two replies...cant get the opaquer paste here in England, but quite like the idea of a "prepped crown", but think would make a small thin cap over the prep with MO/HO to hide it and then make the crown on top..have enough room

As for making MO and LT...was thinking of going down that route..but have never made a veneer with MO...

the two stage idea is very good but most of the time Drs are not educated enough to cement them correctly. You need to glaze the "prep unit". Better bonding results.

I have had good luck doing a zirconia crown with zirpress and using the same zirpress for the veneer. Your using the same material that way.

without knowing what thickness you have on facial for the full prep ..... IMO go with the MO ingot and shape like the veneer prep , color, glaze ,chamfer margin and all..... that way you can block out those wide open interproximal spaces , not to mention the black color and white color( which will reak havoc on the final color) with the MO ingot so your crown wont gray out on you .... then if you want you can wax the one veneer ,press and match the two ... or go ape crazy and wax the 2 veneers over and stain and glaze that . That would look cool ... ask the doctor for photos .... this is a great case to work on ... you need to get feed back on these kind of cases ,there are multiple ways to get to promise land in situations like this. good luck !
