Dongles and software functionality

I have the Straumann/DW software and have the Core 3D scan bodies. You have to use their dongle with their scan bodies. I scanned the model with the scan body and also the opposing model. It seems as if I don't have as many gripper dots to use on the implant...or at least they don't appear to be in their usual positions. I don't have this issue when I'm not using the dongle with scan bodies from other companies. I also cannot remove the scan faces on the opposing model which seems to suggest that the software doesn't recognize that it's there.

Has anybody had any similar experiences with dongles affecting software functionality?
