Lets analyze this .

1.Pattern to close to the wall
2. Sprue to long and had memory from the spool it was on.
3. Or, crap just happens at the worst times when we're short on time.

Bet you can't do that again !!

I think Travis is trying to hoodwink us all.......appears like wax to me.....I wish my ingots gave me that much material and divested that shiny ;)

Hey Rob, good eyes, or is that the camera .....

Maybe Travis used a large ingot to press one crown

It was waxed too close to the wall. I thought it would be ok to use but after taking off the sprue I had a void looked like investment going into the crown. So I had to remake it. Waste of money, one crown two ingots.

I have been doing alot of posteriors with e.max. I have not had any problems other than this case with them.

You know......
From what you just told us, look at what the investment does to the crown.....now look at the part that didn't have investment (shiny part). I was told yesterday about Talladium's new investment, Galaxy 2, and this corrected that problem. It makes all your e.max come out with no reaction layer and very smooth, like Travis's tail.....:)

Have seen this 2 many times in large lab but....

Travis,
Is anyone cutting ingots in half for use? I had a veteran tech. tell me he actually weighed material, as not to waste so much. I think the labor cost outweighs the savings. With the EMAX being Approx. $20 each, maybe not such bad idea????

I wouldnt do that. I had three this week. The one was a a single premolar with cutback, another waste of material. I am not cheap about it, it is what it is. I just wish I made more money with them.
