3D STL Conversion

Does anyone know how I can take our company logo and get it turned into a 3D STL File so I can mill our logo?

Tyler you would have to make the 3rd Dimension on the logo, raise it up first. Shoot me the logo maybe I can find a way to do it in solidworks.

You can use softwares such as PROE，SOLIDWORK to open your logo file. Both of them can output files in STL.

First use an image editor to turn the logo into a grayscale heightmap (the lighter being the higher Z). Get Paysages 3D to convert heightmaps into STL, then Meshlab to finalize your 3d logo. It takes some elbow grease and perseverance to get it done though...

You can do it free of charge, I found a site that let's you upload any image then they turn it into a 3d image for you and send you it in a .stl format. Give me 10 min and I will dig out the email from them.

That looks horrible, lol. And you don't want to use a grayscale image and do a height map...just download Rhino free trial, load the image, trace it using curves and extrude it to the height you want. Save as stl.

Materialise Magics

But u can use BMP2IGES or other Freeware for that simple depthmap also rhino supports Features like that

It's called "Create from Bitmap". You can find it inside the EDIT menu!
