1099's

Have you guys had clients request EIN or SSN from your lab in order to issue a 1099? Strange to me, never had that request before.

They finally got an accountant that is treating their business like a business. that and IRS is cracking down on this.

BTW any of you that outsource and write off subcontracted lab work need to be doing the same for all your vendors

Not sweating it, other accounts have in the past; its just this one in particular after 6 yrs is suddenly requesting info.

Like John said, the hired a real CPA.

We get several requests a year, even though we're a corporation and they are not required to give us one. We simply comply then throw the forms in a drawer when they arrive.
