    Titanium framework turning black

Yea the titanium frames generally are a bit darker. But this one is definitely darker than when it was originally delivered. Attached is the picture we got from the doctor. Notice you can see the mesh work under the acrylic and the metal is not as dark. I feel confident this is something...

    Titanium framework turning black

Anyone have any experience with titanium frameworks turning black over time? I’m assuming this is likely a oxidation possibly due to a cleaning solution the patient is using. Unsure at the moment curious if anyone else has seen this and has any input?

    Milled acetal frameworks

We have done maybe 50 of these over the last 7-8 years. So not a lot but enough to get a little experience. We have used a plastic welding technique similar to what you would use for any of your flexible partial materials that has worked, sometimes. I don’t seem to get as good of a repair...

    CAD alternatives for model basing/editing

As I mentioned before I’m new to this but I know i seen a video on YouTube of a guy using netfabb to close models, not 100% sure about extruding. I haven’t played with it near as much. One idea I had but haven’t tried yet is making some stone bases, say a small, medium, large. Scanning them...

    CAD alternatives for model basing/editing

Netfabb basic is another software to try if you haven’t already. It’s free and has the ability to do what your wanting. So far I like meshmixer better but it can do it.

    CAD alternatives for model basing/editing

Which version of mesh mixer do you have installed? If you have 3.5 installed try version 3.3. I first installed 3.5 and it seemed to crash more then the 3.3 I currently have installed. Meshmixer is the easiest I’ve found for adding bases. Though I just started playing with it in the recent...

    Best material for hard/soft nightguards

The previous lab I worked for used talon and man I hated it, insanely sticky stuff that always ended up stuck all over everything. Today’s vacuum form machines and materials are so good imo we rarely do a “traditional” guard anymore. All vacuumed.

    Best material for hard/soft nightguards

We use to process them exactly as Pat mentioned above. It’s better then trying to do any 2 step method. Hard over soft in my opinion. Impak or astron clearsplint are both good materials for this.

    Expense Ratio - Labor

Just because I don’t make as much as I think I’m worth doesn’t mean I don’t have more then enough. More then most actually. I live by it’s not how much you make it’s how much you spend. As stated I believe I could make more elsewhere or in another industry but I don’t chase the money...

    Expense Ratio - Labor

I tell my employees Unfortunately I can’t pay you what your worth, I also do not get paid what I think I am worth, but that is the situation we’re in. Not just me but for the most part our industry as a whole. I try to offer a competitive wage for our area, wages inline with what local...

    Expense Ratio - Labor

Thanks, keeping the numbers in check is what I credit for helping us survive the many dips we have faced in our 11 years of being open. Know the numbers and make sure they make sense. It’s easy when your booming. The dips and pullbacks will show you if what your doing is working. No one...

    Clear Flexible Clasp

We use a ton of these, acrylic does bond to them. There is a little learning curve to shaping them since each case is different but overall they are very nice. Our accounts love them and with probably 2 years of working with them I can say they are a big [emoji106] in my book. Sent from my...
