Is there a more affordable alternative to the eurkodent eukoform 3d machine?
ive used it in the past and loved it. But its a bit at the moment.

I have not heard of this machine. What does it do that makes it good? We 3D print all of our night guards at the moment. But before that I was doing eclipse

erkodent machine is 4K from Glidewell the last time i checked (been a while). Allows you to do their comfort h/s type of appliance, where it's hard outside and soft inside (comes in pink, blue, clear). The erkodent disks are around $15 the last time i checked. I do some, but i don't call them comfort h/s because if you do you can't charge more than glidewell, they are strict on this, or they used to be. They are a little labor intensive cutting it off the model. We really steer our folks to the Clearsplint/Astron milled pucks for our bruxism patients and if they aren't bruxism patients but need a nightguard then keysplint and print it. Obvious price difference between the two.

What are you looking for out of the vacuum former? The Eurkodents are expensive, I have 2 because we use the heck out them and we have a regular ProForm. Both machines serve different purposes.

Great Lakes also has the Biostar and the Mini Star.

I can believe that, interesting story I heard, I think it's true but erkodent was originally a small german company but Glidewell liked it so much, they bought the whole company and that's why erkodent and it's products are sold exclusively by Glidewell.

that would make sense. as soon as there are shortages glidewell gets first dibs haha.
its a great machine but we dont make enough vac forms to make sense anymore.

We have the Great Lakes/Scheu Biostar machine, you can order the Glidewell blanks for it, just need to specify 125mm diameter. We do about 50% hard/soft and 50% Keysplint Soft depending on Dr Preference.

for hard soft, we love the clearsplint. just so easy to use. milled or hand made.

Don't recall supply issues lately with products. You can use the H/S material on other formers but you do not get to tap the bite in as you can on the eurkodent machine.
