2014 Race for the Future- At a Glance

Sunday, June 29, 2014 – Chicago, Illinois​

The Foundation for Dental Laboratory Technology is pleased to announce a fundraiser in conjunction with an ITU Triathlon in Chicago, Illinois. Individuals and companies can help support the Foundation through “sponsorship” support of racers, race teams and event elements.

How can I get involved?

· You can participate as a triathlete-

1. Visit http://chicago.triathlon.org/ to register as an individual or as part of a relay team

2. Contact Kasey Patton to notify the Foundation that you wish to participate

3. Start training and fundraising!

· You can become a sponsor- contact Kasey Patton at 866-627-3990 for sponsor levels and options

· You can donate instantly online- visit http://www.dentallabfoundation.org/donate-online.cfm and choose “donate instantly online” then select “Race for the Future”. There you can write in an athlete you wish to support or give a general “Race for the Future” contribution by leaving the “athlete name” section blank.

How do I get equipment for the race?

· Each racer is responsible for their own equipment, including bikes, racing suits, etc. Arrangements should be made as early as possible to ensure that you have all the equipment you need. Visit http://chicago.triathlon.org/ for more information about the course, equipment and other race details.

· The preferred bike vendor for this race is Bike and Roll, www.bikechicago.com or (312) 729-1000.

· Pay special attention to equipment such as bikes, helmets and wetsuits as there are specific requirements. These requirements may be found at http://chicago.triathlon.org/.



Where should I stay in Chicago?

· Also make sure to keep up with the ITU Triathlon Chicago website for news and information as well http://chicago.triathlon.org/



Where does the money raised go?

· The Foundation will use the money to help provide-

o scholarships and grants to individuals and educational institutions

o educational programs that will be relevant and accessible to both dental technicians working in the laboratory setting as well as dental laboratory technology students

o awareness of the necessity of dental laboratory technology education
