Roland DWX-52DC Dental Mill - what to think of?

CAP used to know a great deal about the Rolands since, before they were bought out by Zahn, were the distributors and knew how to repair them. Perhaps the older CAP people who knew a lot were replaced by new tech support people who know very little. Parting line issues can be caused by numerous...

Roland DWX-52DC Dental Mill - what to think of?

I'm also looking for more feedback on the DWX-52, with or without the puck changer. I primarily would like to know: - how many units of zirc per month are you pushing through the mill - how many years have you had it - any servicing or issues that you've had with it I've had great success with...

What kind of mill do you own? and what's the lifespan?

Some questions: How long have you had the 51? How many units per month go through it? Any parts replaced or service on it? Thanks for your help!

Anyone with experience with the Roland DWX-52 mill? Looking for some real world feedback and not sales talk! Thanks! Happy New Year

Does anyone still use CAD Spray?

Sounds like CAD spray is recommended. Can anyone give feedback on 1. what CAD software they are using 2. the success rate of their impression scans (that is the crowns being designed on the impression scans as that is what would show the success of the scan) 3. what would cause a bad scan from...

Does anyone still use CAD Spray?

For those that impression scan, what is your success rate? It sounds like spraying the impressions helps to increase success?

    White spots

Strange. I would normally say compressed air that shot out oil but that would most likely deposit a cluster of small dots that would be close to the source (the hand piece itself) rather than something that looks almost evenly spaced like what the photo shows. Regardless, I never used...

    Bonding Ti bases

Repairing with acrylic worked. Now I know a new process for if this happens again. Thanks!

    Bonding Ti bases

I use Panavia on zirc and Multilink on pmma. Perhaps some here can give some technical advice for me. I milled a pmma temp implant bridge, 2-15, and it sat after the mill without much issue. Somewhere along the line, I dont know how, the pmma got distorted and it did not seat well...

Which Separator is best for 3D models

Any good news with JBC's separator? Do the models needs to sit overnight? Any tips/tricks you can pass on?

    best economical and reliable printers

I run Stratasys Objet for c&b models, but at 26k (or thereabouts),it isn't as financially viable if only printing ortho or stents. For ortho models and stents, I use the Juell 3D and the Formlabs 2, both of which are great for those cases but not accurate enough for c&b. Multiple printers to do...

    Getting models printed

Slight tangent but thought I'd ask here: Anyone know of a good separator for ortho appliances on 3d printed models? Can't seem to find any threads regarding this but it seems some of my customers have issues.

Are plaster Study Models obsolete? diagnostic/presentation

Thanks. I looked around but perhaps didn't dig far enough. I'll take another peek.

Are plaster Study Models obsolete? diagnostic/presentation

Slight tangent but I thought I'd ask here: Anyone know what separator works well on 3d printed models? Some of my ortho customers are having troubles with their appliances sticking to the models. I've had customers say that ABC works well, but when another lab tries it, ABC doesn't allow for...

    Fast sintering

When I looked into fast fire furnaces, the one I researched said that proper fire-retardant gloves, aprons, and masks should be used along with fire-retardant liners on the counter and floor. Are the current fast fire furnaces the same, or can the user wear regular clothes? Personally, I am...

Great! Thanks for the tips on purging!

    White spots

Could also be defects in the puck manufacturer. I've had spots appear as well but only in certain pucks. When I would run a diff zirc in the same oven, using the same beads, no spots would appear. When I would return to the zirc in question, sinter in clean, more expensive beads, I would get the...

    Sinter beads or not?

Hi Brent I'd be interested in hearing your suggestions on how to purge the ovens. Does it matter what oven it is? If so, I use the Sintra Plus. Thanks

What shade do you think this is?

The shade depends upon a number of factors: the color of the lighting used while taking the pic, the camera setting, the computer monitor setting, and one's own cones in their eyes. Have the doc and his/her assistant take the color test below to see if they can even see color correctly. Take the...

    Zahn is having trouble?

I'm always impressed with CAP's sales manager, Matt. He's awesome. My concern is, if he leaves and CAP/Zahn grows bigger, that service will deteriorate and there will constantly be a hodge-podge mixture of good/less good service reps.
