Hi,

I've got a case that I need to furnace solder (joining a 60% gold bridge to pfm) I don't do any soldering since getting a laser welder 5yrs ago and have found a little solder tucked away in a drawer, I don't have any liquid flux though. Is there anything else I use or make myself? I don't really want to buy a new bottle of flux for one case as I'll never get the use out of it.

make sure you have liquid flux, otherwise youll have a hell of a time getting the solder to flow into the joint properly.

You wanna get the joint right first time, not be trying multiple times and screwing your ceramic work up.

With the right stuff post soldering is easy. without the right stuff it can be a pain in the ass.
