Hey friends,
I'm curious if anyone has any experience in changing the DIE SHAPE push pins in Modelbuilder. Typically we use the square or rectangle pegs. In the software you are able to change it to a circular shape, but we would like to be able to change this to a triangular pin so that there's only one possible direction to seat. We just had a situation in which a technician had the die in the wrong direction. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Thanks for the help!

it will be possible in 2015, but as of 2.9.9.5 no, you either use the square shape, or an extruded margin line shape.

personally i find it quite easy to identify the rotation on the square dies due to the indent created at the buccal.

You can put the case # on the die which could help your tech determine the correct position.

That and a good smack upside the head.

just put a red dot on the facial... buy your tech an ink pen, and spend an hour or two showing him how to click it open and close

Considering were printing 40-50 models per day...the ideal scenario would be a one way fit for pushpins rather than needing to double check cases with the digital image.

If you angulate the dies slightly in the design ,your problem is solved.

There's also an option to add an ejection hole in the side of the die that goes through the prep arch model as well so they could reference that. You can also set up a material to always do this so you wouldnt have to manually angle it
