Importing STL to exocad

I am getting Medit scanner next month and currently use 3 shape. Have a client who uploads plan scan files directly to me (STL) . I know this is a loaded question but with intra oral scanners becoming more popular, what drawbacks are there in recieving files form the intra oral scanners. I know with cerec, you need cerec lab to accept the files.

Simple import of any stl file into exocad. No extra license or modules. It can be imported manually or automatically using XML format if exocad is configured for it.
