I should have been more clear in my first post, then there wouldn't have been any confusion in the first place. That's what makes this site so great. Everybody has their own way of doing it. When we press the baseplate material into the retention, you do it so it does get mechanical retention...
I should have been more clear in my first post but we only do this with our cases that we pour process. Pull model out of the hydrocolloid, take teeth off and boil off mode. Pull the frame off and remove the baseplate material. Not sure what light cure you use but the Dentsply triad 100% gets...
This is what we do as well. You can also use light cure base plate material and mash it into the retention on the framework. Wax up as usual, and just burn it off when processing.
We use the same cratex wheels as Doris mentioned. I believe they are made by gobert. We get them from schein but you may be able to get them other places as well.
We started doing avadent digital dentures last August. So far we have had mostly good feedback from doctors, but some not as good.
Good feedback we have gotten:
Less to no follow up appointments for adjusting sore spots.
Very straight forward to duplicate existing dentures
Predictable results...
So we just got an ivobase about 2 weeks ago. Everything is going fine with it, but we have a couple overdentures coming up and are wondering what the protocol is for processing these. Upper has four locators and lower has four mini implants with small ball and o-ring type attachments. Both...
So, over the past 10 years we have had two hydrocolloid conditioning machines. The Bego gelovit and the TCS duplicating unit. The Bego, while nice, went through 3 motors and a positioning sensor before being mothballed. We still have this machine and have been quoted around $1000 plus labor to...
How much is the biggest one and how much can it hold? I think it might be worth it if it produces a better product, but for that price and only holding two flasks I don't know. We only pour our stayplates and plastic partials, not dentures, but usually do 6-12 cases a day, and can do so with...
We have never had any issues using a tcs duplicating machine with wirogel. But we also use it to pour all of our stayplates and small partials. Don't see the need to add a silicon duplicator. That being said if we were just duping I would prefer using silicon.
I use the same blazer hot air wand on every case. We also got the duraflex cleaner not too long ago. That picture was taken after being in the cleaner running through the ultrasonic for 30 mins. Cleaner did nothing at all for what was stuck on it.
