    In Memory

Ahh crap. I’ve also worked with Royce for many years. When I last spoke to him he was so optimistic about his chances. Brave man. Very sad to hear this. Thank you for letting me know.

    Pressure pot or vacuum chamber?

Rkm I’ve got an old coe pot (unheated) in my giant pile of ‘can’t throw out lab s$&t ‘ in my basement I’d be happy to send to you if you want. Just needs a new gasket. Although I don’t know what restrictions there might be sending pressure pots thru ups to Canada. Things kinda got weird when...

    Pressure pot or vacuum chamber?

Worst case is someone neglects to put a blowoff valve and over pressurizes and blows the lid through the roof.

    Pressure pot or vacuum chamber?

Be careful retrofitting your own pressure pot. Can get dangerous.

    Pressure pot or vacuum chamber?

Dang, I just bought a new pot, these guys have it for $100+ cheaper. Plus it had a bad regulator out of the box. 🤔

Can denture be rebased/reset after processing? Bite off after delivery.

Where’s that hygienist who called herself a lab tech when we need her? I never see her here anymore.

    Wax Try-Ins

I didn’t realize this was a universal truth. I actually prefer to use the softer wax to set teeth and harder wax to festoon.

Your offices must be very proficient shade takers with non discerning patients

    Wax Try-Ins

Anytime I’ve got a case with single anteriors I will send the case back with the partial in a small cotton lined box with a note ‘fragile, tooth in wax, be gentle.’

What are digital dentures good for?

I admittedly went off topic, call it an unhelpful rant if you will, whiny even. Not trying to poo poo anything tho. Very interested to see how I can incorporate digital to my situation. My docs don’t seem to be very interested at the moment to start scanning but I’d like to get a head start...

What are digital dentures good for?

That’s a detail I was too lazy to be aware of. Thank you.

What are digital dentures good for?

If unions weren’t so corruptible I’d be all for it. Too bad. Then again ups drivers got a huge raise and now they’re laying a large amount off.

What are digital dentures good for?

Just can’t help but think we’re beta testing our way to non existence. But I’ve been told I think too much. I guess the game now is to see who can hold on the longest before the docs bypass anyone who wants to make living wage for design to be sent directly to their mill. I know this...

What are digital dentures good for?

Curious as to why the docs would be apprehensive about milled. My apprehension comes from hearing that there are a lot of cases where vertical space becomes an issue. Have you found this to be true?

    Typical steps for cast rpd

Yeah, my frames have never been produced on dup/prelim or any other model other than the master model. Not sure where you got that impression from. No pun intended.

    Typical steps for cast rpd

Unless we're the ones making the frame Im not sure why any of us are 'designing' any frames. Unless the doc is actually surveying models etc the only benefit I see to allowing them to make designs is to make them feel like they did something.

    Typical steps for cast rpd

digging up this old thread. Where is my logic flawed? I send a prelim model with docs scribble design on it along with a virgin master model. Chrome lab can now use the prelim model as a rough guide and they can draw it on master model. Chrome lab knows better than I or the doc exactly how...
