What metal are firing pins made of? I'm forever losing them, easy to make some just bend some wire. but what wire?

Design your own pins and mill them in the restes of your Zr disks. Will work for metal, E-max, ...

Good idea, but I don't have a mill. I just want to make some wire pins

I did it in orthodontic wire, but it gets frightening discoloratings...Try with weld ( laser) wire, i supose that if it rides out a firing cycle of ceramic, maybe will work for pins.

The pins I've got at the moment are magnetic, not that it helps to narrow down what the composition is. Laser wire is just a bit too thin. Whatever the pins are made of it doesn't build up a big oxide layer.

Cast the pins in your choice of alloy. If they discolor just sandblast them.

I'm going to try some Kanthal A , it's the same wire that heating elements are made of.

Heating element wire work very well I've used it for years with no problem, it is cheap, does not powder as orthodontic wire

I have zirconia pins at a GREAT price. A pack of 10 is $8! Yes, $8!
What do these Zirc pins look like? All shapes and sizes.
