"Some buyout firms concluded that Nobel Biocare is too expensive to buy, the people said."

One look at my monthly statement would confirm that:confused:

Please baby Jesus let this not be the case.

I know Nobel has not recovered since the recession, and the stock has been basically flat. I am not sure if dentsply or straumann is a bigger nightmare for the average lab guy. Zimmer may be interesting but I just do not believe it will happen.

My guess is Straumann. Zimmer has already spent a bunch on its acquisition of Biomet ($13.35 Billion).
DENTSPLY doesn't really need them since they already mill almost any brand of abutment.
Just a guess. Straumann already acquired Neodent in Brazil for 260 million in 2012.

Talked to my sales rep about this today and he said it would be a good thing. We will see.

For who Tyler? If the CEO of straumann is so anti lab how is that going to be good for me? Remember he wants to Handel all the easy cases for our clients. I can't say enough nasty things about that company.

This will be interesting to keep watching over the next few months to see who's

interested in purchasing them.

That's a fun game...bought it back in the beta era before it became super popular.

I've got free updates for life. Paid $9 plus tax. Ha!

"Straumann looked at Nobel Biocare and found it didn’t fit for strategic reasons,"

like how could we get away with not providing a warrantee if we make a synocta with a Nobel mill?

the statement of the boss of straumann is just as good for us as it is good for them.

I can see it now - Buy and iCat or outfit your office with Pelton Crane chairs and get Nobel implants free for life. Hey, and we'll throw in a KaVo mill and Kerr will begin marketing a chairside millable lithium silicate...

That's going to be a company with some pretty good vertical integration...

I stated here years ago that most major implant companies will fall.

Not surprised at all.

Who's next I wonder?

To make money, short the stock of Nobel starting right after the sale.
