Hey guys, quick question, what has been the most shade accurate zirconia you have used?, currently using sage, and sage 2.0. Both are great, but seems to be a tad lighter in shade. Can it be due to polishing? I use the sage brand polishing kit. I know Zirc for anteriors is a wtf but have you guys used a zirc for anteriors that are pretty accurate or close?

We use Ivoclar Prime preshaded pucks. We also apply presinter stains to our crowns. You won't get a perfect shade match without a little adjusting to dial in the shade with any zirconia. Through trial and error, we have staining chart for all the different shade tabs. We do quite a bit of monolithic anterior zirconia crowns this way. For single anteriors, we either cut them back and layer, or we mill monolithically and use MIYO. Depends on the complexity of the custom shade.

I agree that the sagemax colored is a bit light, but Id rather that than too much chroma. I just had a Dr tell me that the shades look a bit light, Ive been using nexxzrT multi on posteriors, so Ive been sinking them to the bottom of the puck, Ive also had luck with running, say an a2, higher up in an a3 puck.
The color is just different than hand painting, it doesnt reach up into the cusps, its more of a light gradient with a white enamel occlusal, so I still lightly handpaint even the multi. Havent tried the 2.0 yet, not sure if it justifies the cost, but after doing an anterior case in GC UHT (colored with changs) the Dr is requesting that for anteriors now, so he might see an obvious difference in the translucency compared to the nexxzr+, Im assuming the 2.0 is more like the GC UHT which is crazy expensive. Having said all that, I havent found any colors that saturate nearly as well as changs liquid, but its not being sold anymore. The nexxzr liquid is almost useless.

But if youre just milling and polishing with no stain/glaze , I would try one shade darker, nested in the incisal portion, and definitely add some zr liquid to the occlusal

This is 6-8 bridge with nexxzr+, yes a tad lighter, but thats normal with zr, especially in photos, to get that real saturated dentin color without stain scares me a bit, because Ive had way too many come out (what I thought) way too dark and have to remill, in the mouth, it might blend, but the chroma is easier to add with stain in real time, than waiting for the oven 10 hours to see what you get.

Nice morphology, perfect glaze (not overglazed). I love the cant of the centrals (longer Inc distals). Very nice :)
You've been using Sagemax faithfully since the contest. You've got it down :)

I was talking to a manufacturer of zirconia and he told me that most of them make the shade a bit lighter because you can always stain it darker or play with the sintering temp. The higher the temp the more translucent and lighter hue. Go opposite if you want it darker. For me AG zirconia was always on the money. Not cheap.

Thank you for the kind words but I’m not much for compliments because I’m only as good as my next case, so I’ll post this one that’s coming back for the 2nd time. 🤦🏼‍♂️

I saw the pt. in nice daylight, even went out of my way to meet her at a local store for initial shade, Nobel replace custom Dess abutment with I think nexxzr +, first one was too much chroma, too opaque, had changs white opaque inside, this one.. 🤯
I thinned the abutment down as much as I could, milled one without white opaque bc Dr requested more translucency. The drop in value is incredible. I hate these lateral implants.. this one is embarrassing, feel free to drop rainbows since there is no loser notification!
