Hello,

Is anyone have experience with milling zirconia abutment. Its Zimmer xex 3.5 variant in anterior or front region. I can use ti base and mill zirconia abutment on ti base and after that milling a crown. But I have possibility to mill whole zirconia abutment with xex and have to use a screw for ZR abutment. I have available screw, in software I can mill abutment with xex, just I have no experience with functionality of that structure.

Has anyone experience with that. Will that last in patient mouth or it will broke ??

I used to work in a lab where we used nobel active full zirconia abutmets. We both used custom and regular ones and most of them failed at the end.

I haven't used a full zirconia abutment or a zirconia abutment with a ti base in over five years. You can find lots of information as to why they are a bad restorative option. We use titanium for all our abutments and then anodize them to turn them gold colored. I design the abutments to there is plenty of room on the facial so the abutment color does not show through the crown. The gold color also keeps the tissue from "greying out" around the abutment.

I must agree with the room. They almost always break at the interface.

I just did one for a doc with atlantis, I advised against it, but he insisted. I made him aware of the limited warranty.
