I usually use Henry Schein material for retainers. I'm looking at making aligners and there seems to be a lot of different types out there with big price differences.

Just wondering what you guys think is the best for function and price.

Thanks,
Wilbur

I use Duran from Scheu. Zendura is the best from what I hear, but pricey.

Great lakes is a great source for material. Scheu is top shelf.
What machine are you using?

I'm using the biostar and also vacuum machine, some of my dr's don't like the tight fit the biostar produces.

Zendura looks very pricey alright, thinking scheu would be better fit, any of you guys have experience with dentsply Essix.

Thanks,
Wilbur

I use foils from Scheu and also Erkodent, not the cheapest but considering what we charge for them it's well worth it.

Never heard of Erkodent, do you use that for your public health care dr's - those guys can be as picky with material as private dr's..

Wow looks so complicated compared to the biostar!

I like the articulator addition though, pretty neat!

Zendura is the best. ClearCorrect uses it for its aligners and its retainers. It will actually move teeth, but it’s expensive. Best value for your dollar though.

I use these for all cases (we are in the UK so different regs here). We get great, reliable results that we know work.

Resurrecting an old thread..

It depends on what you are trying to do with the vacuum-formed appliance...
For tooth movement: ACE material (0.030" thick) by Essix/Dentsply
For retention: C+ (0.030" -- cloudy, doesn't adapt as well) or Essix PLUS (0.035") both by Essix/Dentsply -- cannot move teeth -- only passive retention.

What did you end up trying and did it work?
