Remember this thread!? Oh the good ole days. Patrick was a dental student with millions of ideas and just enough free time to mess around with them. So what ever happened?

2013 -
April - I started working for CG Cookie freelance programming on a project
June - I graduated dental school from Boston University
July - I started my GPR
October - I placed my first implant (haven't placed any since)

2014
February - I gave a talk in Paris about Blender and surgical planning
July - Finished GPR residency
August - Started working at a couple of private practices in Coastal NC. I commute a couple days a week and work 15 minutes down the road the rest.

Now:
Dentistry is hard. I hate commuting. I love teeth. It's a challenging and rewarding profession.

I still work on for CGCookie.com in my free time. It's been fun and provides a different kind of satisfaction.

I still mess with Blender Dental. I've released all the code and started to make some real documentation. I set up a little forum for users. This all has happened very recently so...no one has posted on the forum yet. I get about 2 emails a week for the last couple of years asking about the damn software, figured i could try and get it out there.

I hope y'all are are doing great.

Best,
Patrick

*You're* %That Guy% !!!

Totally cool to 'meet' you. Thanks for stopping by and huge thanks for releasing your code and trying to get man pages done. Forever the worst part of writing something someone else uses.

Oh and even though you predate my presence, a customary Greetings Earthling! is called for.

If you find yourself heading north into VA, pm and I'd see if you're passing near enough to say hi and buy you a o'douls;) y'know since yer drivin'

Welcome back Patrick....so glad to hear of your many successes....don't be a stranger and stay away so long this time.

Hi Patrick! Thanks for helping me with the splint issue today. Blender Dental is awesome!

You are welcome! Thanks for finding the bugs. It's amazing how much self testing doesn't find.

I am not blender expert ...i obtain this error when enable the Addon and check the box.

Can you help me ?

Patric

I really appreciate your talent and effort liberating us from the closed-platform. I believe the open-source software would be more beneficial to clinicians and patients. I hope you are enjoying dentistry, and someday we can see you as an educator for digital dentistry.

hiroshi

I still lurk on this forum :)

I hope y'all are are doing great.

Hi Patrick

I downloaded the new version but have now lost your much valued .CDT to .STL conversion. Is it possible to get another copy

Chris (old dentist user from OZ)

"The Blender Project"... thought that was a sociological issue. :)

Hi Allesio,

The error you posted is because you are using old Blender. Currently the addon is made for blender 2.77a. Head over to github.com/patmo141/odc_public. There you can find the wiki and suit issues if having trouble installing.

Thanks,
Patrick

Hope you're good Pat! great to see you're around!

Hello patmo141!
It's fantastic to know, that there is a source to download your great dental add-on again.
I remember you developed a Cerec cdt-file-importer plugin, too. Unfortunately I can't find
any way to get it. Is it still available for a donation? I look forward to your reply. Best regards from Germany, Peter

Try sending him a PM and he will get an email notification of it, unless he turned that feature off.
