Hey there, I just received my start up pack of GC Initial IQ POM but still need to find an alloy to use. I would like it to be an alloy that I can order from Zahn. GC was not much help, they told me anything with the CTE of 13.8-14,9. Most alloys I look at are in that range, so how do I choose? What are people using with this porc? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks.

Oh, and I prefer to use a noble alloy.

What they told you at GC is in the right direction. the crucial mix is in the CTE of the alloy and the ceramics. for example if they are suggesting you to find anything with the CTE of 13.8-14,9.then alloys such as ARGEDENT 52sf special from ARGEN will work. if you use this remember Oxidation Procedure: 650-1010°C, no hold, Do not remove oxide, no vacuum. and use hot plate to dry your opaque before firing
