=Never replace anything on it? Might be the brushes in the spindle landing in a low resistance spot. Only way to see is with a new spindle. Also remove the cover and blow off the board and components with clean air to get rid of the zr dust on there.
Jaeger has the spindle. I will find out soon if the spindle truly has issues.

Been working on an idea of converting the metal touch off to a button with a good friend of mine that knows these mills inside out. We got extra parts so shouldn't be an issue.

Count me in! That would solve the issue for sure!

The spindle was not totally shot, but a rebuild was recommended. I also replaced the A axis cable with a new one that has a ground strap. This did not stop the touch point issues. Jensen said that it is most likely my air.
After having my local air specialists look at my set-up, they let me know that my air dryer and desicate combo could not fully remove everything from the lines.
I am now installing an after cooler before my refrigerated air dryer and another filter beyond the desicate to catch any loose particles that may have gotten by.
Hopefully this will work.

I thought that I had dry air. I bought a more powerful compressor and i didn’t realize that I needed more components to keep dry air. Before with the smaller compressor, the desicate never had moisture. I checked it since having trouble and it was moist, not saturated though.

As the air leaves the compressed tank it will condensate. First thing you need is an oil/water separator. Itll collect the actual liquids and when enough is in the bowl, itll spit it out. A refrigerated dryer would be the next best component to have in line. Its just a refrigerator to cool the air. Cool air holds less moisture. Then just before your mill....a desiccant dryer. Two would be even better. I like the ones with replacement cartridges from RTi, the MD4. If you want to go the final step, add a polishing filter/dryer like the Ney filter/dryer. Replace the RTi filters every 6 months, the Ney once a year. That setup will give you as close to a -40 dew point as is possible.

More powerful compressor requires a better dryer, higher the cfm dryer needs to be able to handle it, otherwise splash!
