Well....I sent that email many days ago.

There are not too many questions I wouldn't answer right here.

Go ahead and ask!

I've sent you an e-mail because I didn't think it was very relevant to put a personal question, work related, on a public forum...
We are waiting for your answer. I've also mailed the question to 'brad@*************'.
Hoping for your answer soon

Kind regards

Christoph

Create a new order.
the best this to do is create an order with pre prep, ant, prep, wax so you have four import files at a time.
go to C:\3Shape Configuration\DentalSystem\Dental System Control Panel\library\3Shape\Abutments that's where mine are anyway.
import the specific files you need for a fixture. you should have 5 or more for each fixture.
once they have been imported they're decrypted. (super crazy hacking right there)
go to C:\3shape then to your last file you have created on today date. then into the CAD folder. your .dcm files will be there.
then go into control panel and find abutment libraries.
click add on the left hand side and then select those parts you have just exported and load them in the respective sections. If you get lost refer to the systems you already have in your library.
from there click add under "abutment kits" then select all those parts you have just imported once more.
then select your manufacturing material and you should be good to go.
I think it goes without saying but make sure you don't get your parts mixed up or you'll design a messed up abutment.

good luck.

while we are at it can anyone help with a cadoutput.dll for hypermill from open mind or followme! ill start another thread i guess.

When I mentioned reconstructing the kit, in theory I thought it would work, but I don't think it does? Has anyone gotten STL outputs using Glidewells library (one piece, not the two piece zirconia that they enable)??

Hi all,

I am not sure about Dental Shaper software that convert data to .stl format.
As we have tested some types of restorations, always facing the same problem. I am writing about Cercon Eye data (.art). Data from conversion looks weird, must be fixed in Rhino, then in Magics. Really unpleasant. Anyway, after laser-sintering production, it looks like that

LOL, horrible, isnt it? Bigger and longer than it should be.

Really dont know what to do. Dont think its difference between milling and sintering, although Dental Shaper is made for following milling process, but, you know, that converted data doesnt look good. Quite desperate...:-(

Hi Sinteo,

maybe it is based on a Zirkondata ( including a shrinkfaktor) ?

best regards

Yes.

It is output for milling Zirconia. (25% larger)

Start a case choosing NOT Zirconia. You made mistake. It happens.

This is not a easy thing (CAD/CAM) and I hope you are ready for more trouble.

I have wasted $50k in materials alone just to do some learning.

You above have nothing to complain about. A few units huh? That is nothing.

DentalShaper works fine.

Let's see... 20% of 1.25 = ?? ... 0.25

1.25 - 0.25 = ???

:p

Take $1.00 add 25%......you now have $1.25 (same as expansion factor of Zirconia....the larger number. This is expansion or magnification value.

Now, subtract 20% from $1.25 and you get back to $1.00 (this is the shrinkage factor, or the lower number)

25% EXPANSION or V or Magnification is the exact same as 20% shrinkage.
25% larger is same as taking that expanded shape and reducing it by 20%.

LOL! Sorry./

I did not read your post. I thought you were agruing with me.

Then I changed my post.

But...I remember not understanding the Zirconia Shrinkage/Magnification values.

It was not that long ago for me. Ratios, Percentages, Decimal points....

We had to make sure everyone in the lab was on the same page.

It took longer than you might think for some reason?

Hi,

just join to this forum searching about converting cercon .art files to .stl,

i'm confused with some answers since american/english is not my native language so, it is possible and easy from a 2.3.5 cercon art software to reproduce a .stl file?

Thanks

It is easy, but expensive.

You will need to buy CAD software Rhino, and then add DentalShaper from CIMSystem Srl

It works to convert other Dental CAD files also.

Thank you ***,

true, too expensive, anyways at this time i'm paying 45 euros + IVA (18%) + shipping (9€) for a white Zr coping from compartis, very expensive too.

I can open/convert/read .*** without any 3shape stuff.

I charge $1.00 for the file conversion. Then anyone can read/view the file using minimagics or similar free 3d viewer software.

But for the most part...No. 99.9% of the Dental world would need something from 3shape or the 3shape vendor.

Scott

Hey ***,

Do you guys still offer this service?

If the .stl file size is really large you can usually fix it by using a free program like mesh lab. Many of the software companies get a bit lazy on the file cleanup and may have tons of duplicate vertices or really close vertices. This can than be output in a smaller file that is still free like ply or obj. I did this with some lava stuff and it cut the file from 155mb to like 9.
